Massage Therapy is a term that encomprasses a wide variety of treatment modalities, several of which are expressed through the hands of the RMT's at this healthcare clinic.
Swedish Massage is a system of long strokes, kneading, and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of muscles, combined with active and passive movements of joints to increase general body awareness, relaxation, and blood circulation. It is often used initially to warm up tissues in order to perform deeper work.
Neuromuscular Techniques treats "trigger points" or specific areas of neural activity to break cycles of spasm and pain. The goal is balance between the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system through treatment of dysfunctional biomechanics, postural distortion, lack of blood flow, trigger points, and nerve compression.
Sports massage is treatment given with the understanding not only of anatomy and physiology but also of the particular demands placed upon the body by the client and their specific sport.
Sports massage is done with the principal mandate of returning you to your desired sports activity with the same or an even better level of function. Sports massages can include more aggressive techniques that approach muscles more deeply. Sports massage will often utilise a variety of modalities such as remedial massage, trigger point therapy, cross fibre techniques and deep tissue work. Primarily though, the difference lies with function. That is, returning you to your chosen activity in optimal functional.
The Myofascia or connective tissue permeates the entire body, providing support and protection for the body, infusing muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and our organic system.
Craniosacral therapy is a light-touch approach that can create dramatic improvements in your life. It releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It helps relieve pain from migraines and headaches, chronic neck and back pain, stress and tension-related disorders, motor-coordination impairments, infant and childhood disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, TMJ syndrome, scoliosis, CNS disorders, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, orthopedic problems and many other conditions. The sessions are deeply relaxing, creating feelings of warmth or gentle pulsing in the areas the therapist is working on.

If you are not able to give 24 hours notice, and we are not able to fill the time that was reserved for you, we feel that it is fair that you, not the therapist, pay for the time that was reserved. We will request this payment in advance of booking you a subsequent appointment, Please understand that it is necessary in order to run our practices in a stable manner.
Most extended health care plans cover partial or full reimbursement for registered massage therapy.
